Deadline Day Mid-Afternoon Reading FC Roundup

So we're just eight hours away from the deadline but will Reading be doing any business? Here's a roundup of all the rumours so far today.

Reading manager Brian McDermott had warned us not to expect much business but many Royals fans heading into the office this morning wouldn't have been happy to see Danny Williams linked with a move away by Sky Sports News. That rumour was since clarified by SSN to 'unlikely to happen' with Tilehurst End Podcast Co-Host and Get Reading reporter Charles Watts also saying that he didn't expect anything to go through.

Next up was a rumour linking us with a move for Crystal Palace goalkeeper Julian Speroni but that didn't take very long to get shut down by Palace boss Alan Pardew who instead told the media that Alex McCarthy would be heading out on loan (and no, not to Reading).

Since then there have been a few murmured rumours but nothing that's really been stood up by major sources. Tom Bradshaw has been mentioned a few times over the course of the window but Walsall have released a statement saying he'll be remaining with the League One Club this window.

Staying in the third tier and while Reading were linked with a move for Bradley Dack a few weeks back, it seems the highly rated midfielder could be heading to Ipswich in a seven-figure deal.

The only other lingering rumour right now surrounds Reading defender Jake Cooper with the media in South London reporting that Crystal Palace are interested alongside previously rumoured Stoke & West Ham.

So that's been it so far on a quiet transfer deadline day. We'll of course bring you right up to date should anything develop.
