Reading Under-18s will be facing their most difficult test yet in the next round of the FA Youth Cup. On Tuesday evening Chelsea defeated AFC Wimbledon meaning the young Royals face a trip to Stamford Bridge for their quarter final.
Reading have so far beaten Sheffield United, Fulham and Wolverhampton Wanderers in this year's competition. Encouragingly it seems their performances have improved in each round.
In the fifth round they recorded an impressive 3-0 victory at Molineux with forward Sam Smith bagging a brace.
Chelsea have won three of the last four FA Youth Cups and currently sit top of the Barclays U18 Premier League South. The Royals should be far from overawed though. They are just one place behind their opponents and actually won their most recent encounter in January.
Dates and ticket prices for the fixture will be confirmed in due course.
