After a few weeks off, Bookie Watch is back to take a look at the game tonight between Reading and Rotherham. Neil Warnock brings The Millers to town in dire form, with just 2 wins in the last ten, and no wins away from home since mid November, a run stretching back 7 games. Reading come into the game as strong favourites at 3/4. Rotherham are the rank outsiders, with best price available at a shade under 5/1. The draw is available also at a tasty price of 11/4.

Reading, despite their 3-1 win at the weekend over West Brom have struggled for goals since McDermott rejoined, scoring just 6 league goals in 10 league games. However, during this time, the Royals have shored the defence up and kept 4 clean sheets, and only conceded 8 goals. With Rotherham struggling going forwards as well at points this season, espescially away from home, with just 14 goals all season away from home in 16 games, a low scoring match looks likely, with Warnock likely to try to close the Rotherham defence shut. Reading look likely to go back to 2 up front tonight, with Vydra hopefully back fit, and Kermogant likely also to rejoin the picture after his cup tied day on Saturday. Under 2.5 goals is available at a strong price of 7/9. The most common scoreline Rotherham have seen this year is a 2-1 loss, happening 8 times in their 32 league games. That scoreline is available at a price of 17/2 currently.

Reading have been typically a little slow to start out the games in recent weeks, and have slowly felt their way into the game, this has led to Reading having had their last 4 league games (plus a cup game) to be very tight at half time, and see the teams go in at 0-0 at the break. The last 1st half goal in a Reading league game was for Sheffield Wednesday back in mid Jan, when Gary Hooper scored after 10 minutes. The 0-0 price of 7/4 for a half time draw is a very solid price given how slowly Reading have come out the blocks in recent weeks. However, Rotherham have gone into HT in 9/16 of their away league games losing, combining your selection with 1-0 Reading at 11/4 may be worth looking at also.

At home, the defence has become a very solid unit, with only 10 goals conceded. Rotherham have a massive challenge tonight to get into the game if Reading score first. Instead of taking Reading at 3/4, a more solid choice given the solidity of the Reading defence may be Reading to win to nil at 7/4. If you feel that Rotherham may be able to get into the game and grab a consolation, then Reading to win and both teams to score at 31/10 is available best price.

Recommended Bets:

1-0 Reading HT @ 11/4

Under 2.5 Goals @ 7/9
