Matej Vydra Returns To Watford...For Now

The loan striker has not started for Reading since the beginning of February against Wolves.

Don't worry, he'll be back! Vydra has just returned to Watford’s training ground to receive treatment from the club’s medical team, according to WD Sport.

Brian McDermott last week confirmed that the 23 year old would miss the trip to Charlton with a hamstring injury, which kept him out against Burnley and Rotherham as well as limiting him to just half an hour against West Brom. The Hertfordshire publication claim that Vydra asked senior figures at the Madjeski Stadium if he could return to his parent club for treatment. The request allegedly stemmed from a call by Ondrej Chovanec, the striker’s agent, to Hornets owner Gino Pozzo.

This shouldn't be anything Reading fans should necessarily worry about, with loan players regularly returning to their parent clubs if injured, such as Nathaniel Chalobah did last season.

Since signing on loan for £2.5 million on deadline day last summer, Vydra has scored just twice in 19 Championship games for the Royals, but is the top scorer in the FA Cup, with six goals in four appearances.
