RUMOUR: Cooper Linked With Premier League Switch

It's still three months until the transfer window re-opens, but the rumour mill continues...

Linked with both Stoke City and West Ham back in January, Jake Cooper is now attracting the interest of AFC Bournemouth, according to the Sun.

The 21 year old has made 18 starts in all competitions this season, scoring once. A series of impressive performances meant that he nailed down a starting spot, but in recent weeks he has begun to wobble, giving away a penalty and getting sent off against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe was spotted at that game, but appears not to have been put off by Cooper's showing. The figure being waved around in January was £5 million, and with the Cherries starting to splash their top flight cash, it is a signing that could well happen, despite the youngster's lack of experience.

Cooper's confidence will have been boosted though by a call-up to the England Under 20 squad, and may feel that he is ready to make the step up to the Premier League with Bournemouth all but safe in 13th.
