Reading FC Linked With Iceland International Attacking Midfielder

After three years without an Icelandic player could Royals fans finally get the chance to get their Iceland flags out of the loft?

Brynjar Gunnarsson, Ívar Ingimarsson and Gylfi Sigurðsson are all Reading legends. Gunnar Heiðar Þorvaldsson less so. But could we about to see another Iceland international at the Madejski Stadium?

Arnór Ingvi Traustason, who currently plays for Swedish champions IFK Norrkoping, has been linked with a move to England. The left midfielder scored seven goals and made 11 assists in 29 appearances to help Norrkoping win their first title since 1992.

Traustason, who is out of contract next year, is being watched by clubs across Europe. Rapid Vienna had two bids worth more than £1million rejected for the 22 year old at the beginning of the year.

Traustason apparently favours a move to England and he may get his wish with Swansea City, Aston Villa, Birmingham City, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Reading all rumoured to be keen on him.

With that list of clubs it is probably unlikely that he'll be joining us in Berkshire, which is a shame because it just doesn't feel right not having an Icelander at the club.
