Ali Al Habsi
Average rating: 6.1 (9 appearances); MOTM wins: 1st (Middlesbrough A), 2nd (QPR A), 3rd (Preston H)
The man who won the club's Player of the Season award, Al Habsi continued his good form towards the end of the campaign as he continued to make impressive saves to keep the scores down. Despite keeping just one clean sheet in April/May (and indeed spanning March too), the Omanian stopper has justified the faith and been just about the only player to sing about in recent weeks.
Average rating: 6.0 (9 appearances); MOTM wins: 1st (Hull H), 1st (Birmingham H), 2nd (Bolton A), 2nd (Preston H), 2nd= (Blackburn A)
The Irishman's season has been curtailed by injury but towards the end of the campaign he's started to show the sort of form we knew he was capable of, including a cracking strike which nearly earned us a point at home to Preston. As hard working as ever, Quinn was voted into the top two for our MOTM votes five times in nine games - a real demonstration of both his consistency and his ability. He'll be hoping to carry that form into next season with the Royals.
Average rating: 6.4 (5 appearances); MOTM wins: 1st (QPR A), 2nd (Hull H)
He might have only played in half the games across April and May but Rakels still ended up as the Royals' top scorer in that period (okay, he netted twice, but still one more than anyone else!). More promisingly, the Latvian has shown real spark and drive when given the chance, and his partnership with Yann Kermorgant, whilst fledgling, has at times worked well. Another off-season to acclimatize and Reading fans will surely be hoping Rakels can become the next cult hero at the Mad Stad.
So those are your three nominees - let us know who you think should win the final POTM vote of the season and we'll reveal the results soon...
