Yesterday we let you know that Fosu hadn't been called up to the Holland pre-season squad.
Since then, the other two missing names from that list, Stacey and Barrett, have featured in an U21 friendly win over Northern Irish side Billericay.
Well, we might have an answer and you're not going to like it. Twitter user @Maffff spotted that exciting youngster Tariqe Fosu has been on trial at Scottish Championship side Raith Rovers.
Tarique Fosu has been on trial at Raith!? (ahead of a loan?) #readingfc https://t.co/WhWvDEeeAP

The Courier reported last week:
The Rovers manager was keeping tight-lipped over the identity of the target but he admitted the player would fill the void left by defender/midfielder Lewis Toshney after he joined Dundee United.
Even if Locke does manage to get this one over the line, he is still looking to bolster his forward options and will once again run the rule over the two trialists, Tarique Fosu and Joel Coustrain, who featured against Partick Thistle in midweek when Rovers face Arbroath in a friendly tomorrow at Gayfield.
… Locke said: “We’re hoping to announce a signing within the next 24 hours. We’re waiting on one or two things happening there.
…Locke added: “Two trialists played the other night and we’re pleased with how they did.
“They’re going to be with us again on Saturday and we’ll have another look at them.
“And then I’ll make a decision on them after the game on Saturday.
“They’re both forward players, which is pleasing, because we’ve not got many of them.”
Yeah, you read that right. The exciting, adventurous young winger who ripped Derby apart at the end of the 2014/15 season and won the League Two Player of the Month for April 2016 might be heading to the Scottish Second Division.
If you're looking for the positives out of this potential deal, there aren't any you might say that he'd be guaranteed to start almost every game Raith play and that he'd learn to toughen up in an unforgiving division.
If he does make the move, we'll be sure to let you know. And then cry.
UPDATE: The Courier article was written on 8 July. The article states that Fosu might play against Arbroath on 9 July. As we all know he in fact played for Reading that day against Boreham Wood. A loan deal to Raith could still happen, or he could be heading somewhere else. Time will tell.
