Slovenian Winger To Join Reading FC?

It seems that Matic Crnic is having a medical in Berkshire today ahead of a move.

With plenty of wingers already at Reading, you wouldn't think that Jaap Stam was looking to strengthen in that area, yet it seems we could well see another wide player arrive at the Madejski Stadium this summer.

Slovenian winger Matic Crnic has been linked with a switch, and was allegedly seen by this Twitter user arriving for his medical:

Of course, this may not even be Crnic, but it is plausible and we have no reason to suggest that it isn't. At the same time, I'm personally unlikely to believe any rumour until I see a player holding up the club's shirt and signing a contract.

So who is he?

The 24 year old currently plays for NK Domzale in the Slovenian Premier League, scoring seven goals and getting three assists in 24 appearances last season. With his previous club Maribor, Crnic won four league titles and two domestic cups in five years.

He reportedly caught the eye of Reading whilst in Europa League action last month. Domzale played West Ham United in the third qualifying round, with Crnic netting both of his side's goals in the 2-1 first leg victory. He also played the full 90 minutes in the return game at the Olympic Stadium which the Hammers won 3-0.

According to HITC, Leeds United are also keen on signing on the winger, who has one cap for his country, as are Croatian pair Hadjuk Split and Rijeka. But the above picture seems to suggest that Reading have won the race for his signature.

It might not be Liam Moore (yet), but are you happy with the signing of Crnic if it gets completed? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
