It's back! The Championship season has begun and the opening weekend didn't disappoint. In typical Championship fashion we witnessed shocks, screamers and plenty of goals. Here is a look at the weekend's best bits.

Game of the Weekend

Burton Albion's first game in the Championship saw manager Nigel Clough make an emotional return to the City Ground where he started out as a player. And it was a thriller...

Player of the Weekend

Grant Ward had a debut to remember for Ipswich as his second half hat-trick helped secure his side a 4-2 victory over Barnsley.  The youngster who joined Ipswich from Spurs earlier in the transfer window definitely deserved Player of the Weekend and you can see his hat-trick in the clip below.

Goal of the Weekend

Jacob Murphy gets the Goal of the Weekend with this screamer on his first league start for Norwich (see first goal.)

Former Royal Watch

Nick Blackman's goal drought continues at Derby. He's now gone 18 games without a goal since arriving from Reading back in January and was subbed off after around an hour as Derby drew with Oliver Norwood's Brighton, with the former Royals midfielder not getting off the bench. Aaron Tshibola was also confined to the bench for Aston Villa but came for the final 20 minutes as they lost 1-0 at Sheffield Wednesday.
