Anssi Jaakkola – 6
Had a reasonably quiet first half but made a couple of decent saves in the second when called upon.
Tennai Watson – 7
A good, solid performance from the young full back; he tracked players well and kept calm under pressure. My only criticism would be he maybe could have done slightly better in the build up to Brighton's goal.
Liam Moore – 7
Was having a good game until he was forced off with an injury and hopefully it's nothing too serious. He had a good partnership with Blackett until he got sent off and made some vital tackles to snuff out any Brighton attack.
Tyler Blackett – 6
He had a good 42 minutes playing at centre back with Moore, but can't really rate him any higher because of the sending off. I'm still of the opinion that it was a harsh one but no qualms with Obita coming in as a replacement at left back.
Jordan Obita – 7
A very composed performance that can be expected of Obita, he stopped crosses and threw himself at shots in the nervy last minutes of the game.
John Swift – 8
He's really good isn't he? Another dominating performance in midfield and the stand out player for me. Rewarded with a great goal for his efforts.
Stephen Quinn – 8
Captained the side well and looked lively. He got into decent positions and made life difficult for Brighton. Lashed the first goal in from close range after finding a loose ball.
Liam Kelly – 6
A promising performance from the academy graduate and linked up well with Swift in the middle.
Dominic Samuel – 6
Had a good first half and went close to scoring a goal early on. A shame that he had to be subbed after the red card as I think he would have carried on causing Brighton problems.
Callum Harriott – 7
Having a major part in the build up to Swift's goal, Harriott had a good performance all round last night, using the wings effectively to get forward.
Joseph Mendes – 6
I don't know what's happened, but the guy looks like he's suddenly found fitness and was a contrast from his cameo at Barnsley on Saturday. Don't get me wrong there's still a lot of work to be done, but he looked strong, got into some decent space and again played a part in Swift's goal.
Substitutes
Danzell Gravenberch – 6
Had a decent second half at centre back and defended well for the majority of the 45 minutes.
Chris Gunter – 6
Played well out of position. Possibly could have done slightly more to prevent Brighton's goal but on the whole soaked up the pressure well.
George Evans – N/A
Wasn't on the pitch long enough to earn a rating.
