Transfer deadline day is so often about the incomings that it's worth taking some positives out of the outgoings that have occurred on Tuesday as Dominic Samuel and Stuart Moore both leave on temporary deals.
Striker Samuel has only made nine appearances in the league this season, accruing two goals as Jaap Stam endeavoured to give the 22-year-old a run in the first-team, which he hasn't fully taken advantage of.
Nevertheless, a Championship team in the form of Ipswich are in need of reinforcements and further competitive action at this level seems a solid prospect for Samuel.
Elsewhere, goalkeeper Moore leaves for Luton and like his academy graduate colleague, will remain away from Berkshire until the end of the season. Restricted to appearances in the EFL Trophy, the Sandown-born shot-stopper has been part of many a matchday squad with the Royals but now's the time for him to step up and earn his stripes on loan.
Already, Moore has spent time on loan at Bath, Peterborough, and Basingstoke and it was only with the latter that he secured continual first-team football, so here's hoping League Two Luton can provide just that.
