Two Reading youngsters have returned to the club after loan spells in the lower leagues. Centre half Rob Dickie has been recalled from Cheltenham Town, whereas 'keeper Jonathan Bond's loan deal at Gillingham finished at the weekend after running its six-month course.

Dickie, 20, arrived at the League Two side on August 25, where he made 20 appearances and found the net twice. According to Gloucestershire Echo writer James Young, Dickie was brought back to cover the first team.

With Tiago Ilori yet to complete his move to Berkshire at the time of writing, and Paul McShane potentially out for several weeks after a wrist operation, the Royals are indeed light in this area.

As for Bond, his loan spell was due to expire on Saturday, but he was still available for Reading's 4-2 win over Southampton u23s on Friday.

He only played seven times for Gillingham, conceding ten goals in the process.

Do you think Dickie and Bond could play a part for Reading in the remainder of the season? Do they have a long-term future at the club? Let us know in the comments.
