Affordable ticket prices are far from guaranteed in the Championship so it’s worth applauding when Reading fans are treated to the reciprocation of their committment to Twenty’s Plenty. So, well done Derby County.

When the Royals head to Pride Park on November 4, the away fans need only fork out £20 with 65 years and over paying £14, £11 for 13 to 17 year olds, and just £6 for under 12s.

Since Reading took up the initiative last season, a number of other sides have returned the favour, namely Birmingham (twice), Cardiff City, and Aston Villa with Ipswich Town signing up to a limited campaign for the new season.

While we laud those who don’t take aim at supporters’ pockets, it’s worth pointing out those who do in the hope that they will see the light. Reading are still waiting on a reasonable price from Leeds (£39 for next week’s trip) with Sheffield Wednesday among those who are also culprits of hiked prices. C’mon guys, do the right thing.
