View From The Town End: Aston Villa

The bookies have them as overwhelming favourites but this Villa fan isn’t so confident of three points tomorrow.

This week's View From The Town End comes via James Rushden, who writes for our chums 7500 To Holte.

How would you sum up Villa's season so far?

It's been mixed. Look, as a relegated team you've got to finish in the top three. That's expected. Villa paid the price for a tepid start and a winter lull, at least they are picking up now to finish strong!

Still, it's not been good enough.

Steve Bruce didn't get off to the best of starts, have fans now warmed to him?

Again, it's mixed. There's no better man for Villa right now though and I'll give him a full season of trust before I start questioning him.

It looks like Reading are about to become the latest club under Chinese ownership. What's been your view on your Chinese owners so far?

Tony Xia has been a revelation. He's a fun guy who loves Villa and loves the work. He's honest and open and I think he's the best owner in the EFL.

Who should Reading be wary of on Saturday?

The big man up front. Jonathan Kodjia isn't a great player and he has went under the radar for some reason, but he can't stop scoring for Villa right now. He'll find the net from anywhere and nobody seems to stop him.

Any Reading player that's caught your eye?

I do like John Swift. I've also got a soft spot for Yann Kermogant

Finally, give us a score prediction.

1-1!
