Ali Al-Habsi – 6

The Player of the Season was present when called upon but never properly tested - Wigan’s best chances flashed wide of the post.

Chris Gunter – 6

A little hot-headed and gave away a cynical free kick when beaten by Powell. Left isolated when Grabban came on but still a reliable performance.

Liam Moore – 7

My nomination for Player of the Season. He gave another solid display, bringing the ball out from the back well. He’ll be key in the play offs.

Tyler Blackett – 6

He still terrifies me when he brings the ball out of defence, and made a couple of errors that could have proved costly. Needs to learn when to release the ball sometimes, but kept a clean sheet.

Jordan Obita – 6

Put in some decent crosses and got forward well. A steady but not spectacular performance.

George Evans – 6

Started brightly but the challenge on MacDonald seemed to affect his mentality.

John Swift – 6

Some nice flicks and touches but didn’t really get into the game and was subbed off early in the second half.

Liam Kelly – 6

A good display from the youngster, always willing to put in a challenge and get stuck in. However, he wasn't too effective going forward.

Roy Beerens – 6

Nice touches and skills but drifted in and out of the game as we’ve come to expect from Beerens.

Garath McCleary – 7

A shame he had to go off just before half time as he was Reading’s most dangerous player. Stood up a very good cross for Kermorgant to score.

Yann Kermorgant – 7

A well taken header, 17 goals for the season is a strong achievement for the 35 year old - the most in a season for Reading since Shane Long.

Subs

Lewis Grabban – 5

Positional sense seemed to disappear until Ilori came on. It was difficult to tell if he was playing wide or down the middle. Also shanked a shot horribly wide when he had plenty of time.

Danny Williams – 5

Misplaced a lot of passes and gave away silly free kicks.

Tiago Ilori – 6

Looked assured in possession. If he can stay fit next season he’ll be a huge asset.

Average: 6.07
