Reading FC Players Ordered To Carry 'Stone Of Shame' After Norwich Defeat

A proportionate punishment, to say the least.

In the wake of Reading FC's dismal 7-1 defeat at Norwich City, which involved the promotion-chasing side conceding six behind before half-time, the team bus has been replaced with the 'stone of shame'.

Amid complaints by the squad that they only lost by one goal in the second-half, club authorities have instilled the punishment with much backing from fans.

"Given how well the 106 team carried the stone of triumph, which Ibrahima Sonko made look so effortless with those big, strong shoulders of his, it's only fair that the stone of shame is lumbered home via the tedious East Anglian B-roads by this lot," one irate fan wrote on Twitter.

At time of writing, the squad had reached the M11 thanks to some strong dragging work by Liam Moore and Paul McShane, with Yann Kermorgant expected to take over for the entirety of the M25 and M4 before the rest of the squad do their bit across the final few yards.
