A very young U23 Reading FC side were beaten 2-0 by Swansea City in the Premier League Cup Final last night.

Yakou Meite and Andrija Novakovich were the only non-teenagers to feature in the 16-man squad, and the Academy staff will take a lot of positives from the progress and development of the squad this season.

Adam King scored a goal in each half for Swansea to secure his side's double, after The Swans won the Premier League 2 Division 2 title this season.

Reading fought hard and had some good opportunities, but couldn't quite finish off the chances they fashioned.

Let's hope the first team squad make the most of their chances when they face Fulham at the Madejski Stadium this evening, hoping to reach the play-off final.

Legg, Watson, Richards, Osho (Andresson 84), Dickie, East, Frost (Smith 86), Rinomhota, Barrett (Sheppard 74), Meite, Novakovich.

Unused subs: Driscoll, Holsgrove
