The 2016-17 season has barely finished but we already have some news of Reading's preparations for the new campaign, with it being announced this morning that the Royals will head to the Netherlands in pre-season.
The team will regroup back at Hogwood Park on Monday 26th June, although internationals such as Chris Gunter and Paul McShane will be given more time off. The side will then jet off for Holland on Wednesday 12th July for a ten day trip to the homeland of Jaap Stam, Andries Ulderink et al.
Details of any games to be played out there are yet to be announced, as are any other pre-season fixtures that will be played in England before the new Championship campaign begins on August 5th.
Of course Reading did make a brief trip to the Netherlands last summer as well following the appointment of Stam as manager in mid-June. They played just the one game in the village of Oosterbeek, beating Saudi Arabian top flight side Al-Taawoun FC 3-1.
