April was a busy month for Reading and as the Royals firmly embedded themselves in the play-offs, one man has earned the individual accolade of being named the Championship Player of the Month.

Yann Kermorgant netted seven times in as many games, single-handedly earning six points for Jaap Stam's team via winners against Blackburn, Leeds, and Wigan. He's also netted in trips to Sheffield Wednesday and Norwich as well as a brace at Nottingham Forest.

He was up against the mercurial Frenchman are Glenn Murray of Brighton, Burton's John Brayford, and prolific Norwegian Stefan Johansen who plies his trade at lowly Fulham.

The winner will be announced on Friday but Paul McShane has already beaten them to the punch, posting a photo of the trophy on Instagram.

His rise up the goalscoring charts recently, where he sits on 17 strikes for the season, comes after an indifferent start where he scored just once from open play in his opening 20 apperances.
