Reading FC Announce First Signing Of The Summer in Pelle Clement

The Carabao Alarm™ has sounded for the first time in the summer window of 2017 as Reading welcome Pelle Clement to Berkshire from Ajax.

Arriving on a three-year deal from the Dutch giants, 21-year-old Clement is listed as an attacking midfielder and a striker across the web, having made his full league and European debut for his former team during last season.

That's kind of all we know about him at the moment, so while we load up FIFA 17, here's what the Jaap himself has said upon joining the Royals.

“Pelle is a player who comes to us from Jong Ajax, having been involved in the first team squad over in Amsterdam last season," Stam told the club website.

“He will need to learn and adapt to the game over here of course, but he is a young, very promising player with a good personality.

"He is quick, technically good and has good stamina – and he is capable of playing in midfield, up front or in the wide or wing back positions. So I’m pleased to have him with us here in Reading.”

Is he any good?

Well, in the absence of any professional scouting expertise, we rely on video games whereby FIFA rate him at 64 out of 100, as below:

And on Football Manager 2017...

And some YouTube footage? Sure, why the hell not.
