Reading FC Transfer Round-Up: June 7th

One can always tell one’s own social standing by the company they keep, or more importantly, the company with which they compete. When Reading are battling Liverpool for signing promising Spanish strikers or plucking £10 million rated Icelandic superstars from Tottenham, you know we’re doing good. Or at least getting good at lying.

This week, the Royals are touted for moves on little known players that are also interesting the likes of Bristol City and QPR. A sign of the times, perhaps.

The first, as per The Daily Mail, is Real Zaragoza forward Angel. The 30-year-old is out of contract in the summer and has smashed in 21 for the second-tier side last season, alerting the aforementioned fake hoops along with Aston Villa and Hull City.

Plausibility rating: A scouting trip to watch a potential bargain is highly plausible, but in reality the DM stuck Reading in as extras, focusing on QPR’s pursuit instead.

Saidy it ain't so

Celtic full-back Saidy Janko is another labelled as under the Royals’ radar, this time Bristol City and play-off also-rans Sheffield Wednesday are also in the ring.

Coming through the Manchester United ranks, the right-sided defender headed to Scotland before spending last season on loan at Barnsley.
