Reading FC have unveiled who’ll be taking part in the pre-season tour of Holland.
Injured stars Callum Harriott, Yann Kermorgant, Garath McCleary, Joseph Mendes and Tennai Watson all miss out through injury.
While Dominic Samuel and Ali Al-Habsi miss out on the tour as they have both been given permission to hold talks with other clubs about a move away from the club.
And with only Pelle Clement joining The Royals so far this summer, it’s a very young side Jaap Stam is taking with him to his home country.
In alphabetical order, the squad is:
- Josh Barrett
- Roy Beerens
- Tyler Blackett
- Pelle Clement
- Jake Cooper
- Liam Driscoll
- Ryan East
- George Evans
- Tyler Frost

Observations
The squad is extremely light in striking options, with both Mendes and Kermorgant missing out, and Samuel on the verge of departure.
With Ali Al-Habsi almost gone as well, the onus is on the likes of Jaakkola and Legg to make a big impression on Stam and his coaching team, and become the new first choice for The Royals.
Otherwise, the youngsters have a chance to make their mark and become this season’s Liam Kelly (breakthrough star).
The squad will play two pre-season double headers against foreign opponents during their ten day trip.
