Earlier we brought you reports of a potential new goalkeeper coming in at Reading to replace Ali Al-Habsi. Well, forget all about that because someone else is set to arrive between the sticks at Madejski Stadium.
Enter Vito Mannone, former Arsenal and Hull City man who’s been enjoying a rollercoaster spell at Sunderland these past few years. The Italian has gone all the way from the 2013/14 fans and official club Player of the Year to an 8-0 humping at the hands of Southampton.
Pretty much everyone has reported on a £2 million bid being accepted by the recently relegated club with a medical to take place on Wednesday.
Furthemore, Mannone was left out of Sunderland’s squad for a friendly with Hartlepool United despite being Simon Grayson’s go-to keeper for the summer thus far.
