Reading kicked off their 2017 pre-season campaign with a brace of victories over fake hoops West London side Queens Park Rangers today. Playing back-to-back at Hogwood Park, the Royals triumphed first 2-1, then 5-2.

The set-up of the afternoon meant that pretty much every fit player was given the opportunity to get minutes on the pitch, including Stephen Quinn who missed much of last season.

Nonetheless, Danny Loader was today's hero, scoring a perfect hat-trick in the second game, and adding another strike to put his tally up to four. Impressively, he only signed his first ever professional deal with Reading this morning! Adrian Popa scored the other goal for Reading in that game.

Earlier on in the afternoon, Roy Beerens and Ryan East gave Reading a 2-0 lead before Conor Washington, who reportedly almost signed for the club in January 2016, halved the deficit from the penalty spot.
