Reading FC In 2017/18: Your Predictions & Expectations

Only 25% of you thought we’d be a top eight side last season, what about this time round?

Championship winners? Relegation fodder? Or somewhere in between? Is Big Jon Dadi going to be a goal machine? Will Joey van den Berg's reputation as a dirty player continue? We want to know your thoughts on how the campaign is going to pan out.

Simply copy these headers and paste them into the comments section with your thoughts and put your money where your mouth is!

We'll revisit the predictions at the end of the campaign and the person who gets closest overall with their predictions will win a TTE related prize.

(Please feel free to say A.N Other if you fancy a new signing will win any category below)

Final league position

Top three league goalscorers (In order for bonus points...)

Most assists

Number of clean sheets

Most appearances

Dirtiest player (most yellow & red cards)

Player of the season (as voted in the end of season TTE Poll)

Rookie of the year (must have fewer than five Reading starts, be under-23 at start of the year)

On top of that, we asked you via social media the following, starting with which outcome you saw as most likely in 2017/18

Which is more likely? (2016/17 results shown in brackets)

Promotion - 23%

Top Half - 67%

Bottom Half - 8%

Relegation - 2%

Very few of you see this as a season of struggle for Reading with 90% thinking we’ll either be celebrating promotion or a comfortable top half finish.

Where will Reading finish?

1-8: 52% (24.1%)

9-16: 45% (65.3%)

17-24: 3% (10.6%)

Likewise, the most popular prediction for a finishing spot is inside the top eight, with only 3% feeling we’ll be in a relegation scrap. Overall you’re twice as confident heading into this season than last!

Will Jaap Stam still be manager at the end of the season?

Yes: 79% (88.1%)

No: 21% (11.9%)

A slight drop off in numbers here but given the shelf life of an average Championship Manager it’s not surprising to see a slight decrease.

So let us know your predictions and good luck!
