Reading Football Club could be on the verge of making a deadline day move for West Bromwich Albion youngster Sam Field.

According to The Guardian, the 19-year-old central midfielder could join The Royals on a temporary basis to add to Stam’s midfield options. The youngster has made 11 appearances in the Premier League for West Brom.

Speaking during pre-season, Tony Pulis called the youngster as "gifted as any footballer I've seen at that age", and insisted that if Field were to leave the Hawthorns, it would only be for a Championship club.

So, what’s his style? If you put much credence in WhoScored’s statistical style, he’s not great at passing or discipline. He also likes to shoot from range, pass it short, and make tactical fouls. So ... Y’know, there’s that.

Throw in the fact this story originated from the reputable Guardian, and it seems this story has some kind of legs. Whether it transpires, only time will tell.
