His third nomination for this award in three months, Bacuna has played well wherever he’s been asked to play, spending time in both wing-back positions as well as central midfield. In a team lacking attacking impetus of late, he’s often looked the most likely to make something happen.

Modou Barrow

Average rating: 6.17 (6 appearances); Man of the Match awards: 1st (Sunderland A), 1st (Cardiff City H), 1st (Ipswich Town A), 2nd (Burton Albion H)

Yet another impressive month from the Gambian international, who netted four times during the month of December and now leads our scoring charts with a total of seven since his arrival last summer. Looks a bargain at the moment, causing chaos just about every time he gets on the ball.

A steady month for Gunter, who has been the only ever-present across all competitions for the Royals this campaign. He’s been getting into good forward positions recently, firing off a few shots and delivering dangerous crosses (for example the equaliser against Burton), whilst he’s been his usual reliable self defensively.
