Reading have announced today that two further youth stars have headed out on loan in search of first-team experience. Gabriel Osho (centre back) and Ade Shokunbi (central midfielder) are bound for non-league clubs Aldershot Town and Billericay Town respectively.
Both loan switches are pretty short-term - Osho will stay with the fifth-tier Shots until early November (joining current loanee George Legg), whilst Shokunbi is due to return from sixth tier action in January. They become the 12th and 13th players to have been farmed out on loan by the Royals at some point this season, with the rest of the list as follows:
Lewis Ward (Northampton Town), Liam Driscoll (Hungerford Town), George Legg (Aldershot Town), Jokull Andresson (Hungerford Town), Adam Desbois (Hartley Wintney), Danzell Gravenberch (KSV Roeselare), Tennai Watson (AFC Wimbledon), Axel Andresson (Viking), Joey van den Berg (NEC), Sam Smith (Oxford United), Andrija Novakovich (Fortuna Sittard).
Osho, 20, is starting his second loan spell away from the club after spending time at Maidenhead United last season. A ball-playing defender, he’s also the captain of Reading’s under-23s for whom he’s scored three times this season. He agreed a new deal with the club earlier this year alongside fellow centre-back Tom McIntyre.
