It’s two player of the month awards in a row for Anssi Jaakkola, as you have voted him as your top performer in November following his first place finish in October too.

The Finnish shot stopper received 44.8% of the vote after a month in which he kept one clean sheet in three games, making particularly crucial saves in the trips to both Wigan Athletic and Leeds United.

It was a surprise to many that Jaakkola had his contract renewed back in the summer, but it’s now probably fair to say that he is Reading’s first choice between the sticks ahead of Sam Walker and Vito Mannone. Looking at the Championship as a whole, no goalkeeper has made more saves per game this season than Jaakkola (5).

Andy Rinomhota, who made his first league start at the beginning of November, pushed the 31-year-old close for the award, finishing second with 37.6% of the vote after initially leading the poll. Yakou Meite, scorer of three goals last month, finished third with 12.8%.
