It was really difficult to rate the players from Tuesday’s game at Wolves. How do you score a bunch of blokes running around (Well, walking for the most part) who looked completely disinterested and managed to muster just one shot for the entire game?
I tried my best, and I apologise in advance that this isn’t the best Player Rating piece you’ll ever read, but I hope you can forgive me after the boredom and disappointment I suffered at the Molineux.
Anssi Jaakkola: 4
Made some terrible decisions which led to a couple of the goals. Time wasting within 10 minutes also didn’t bode well for the rest of the evening.
Tyler Blackett: 5
Didn’t actually do too badly. Tracked the ball well and made some good clearing headers.
Liam Moore: 4
Actually looked like he cared that we lost at the final whistle, but his frustrations were very apparent during the game.
Tiago Ilori: 4
Static defending, too casual on the ball, inaccurate clearances.
Chris Gunter: 5
Attempted to get past the half way line unlike the rest of the team.
George Evans: 4
It’s good to see Evans getting more game time, but this definitely wasn’t his finest performance.
Pelle Clement: 4
Managed to make Jota roll half way to Birmingham with first half tackle, but didn’t do much else.
Dave Edwards: 4
Non-existent in a generally very weak midfield display.
Sone Aluko: 4
Selfish and wasteful with the ball. After a good performance on Saturday, it was back to standard Aluko on Tuesday.
Mo Barrow: 5
If we had any kind of attacking threat, Barrow was probably the majority of it.
Jon Dadi Bodvarsson: 5
You can never fault his work rate, it’s just a shame none of Jon Dadi’s efforts were even close to being rewarded.
Subs
Leandro Bacuna: 4
I remember him touching the ball once and he just smashed it at a Wolves player. That kind of summed up his game.
Sam Smith - N/A
