Omar Richards Named Reading FC Player Of The Month For February

It was a tight pick between Omar Richards and Mo Barrow for the February player of the month competition and you sided with the academy left-back after he grabbed the first senior goal of his career at the City Ground.

Winless throughout February, few standout candidates emerged from losses against Millwall and Middlesbrough before Richards opened the scoring at Nottingham Forest. Following that up was a 3-3 draw at home to Derby which saw Liam Kelly take the man of the match poll, and the Irish midfielder ended third in the montly vote with 18%.

Barrow, started on the bench in the defeat to Sheffield United that closed the month, came in second on 26% to allow Richards the honours on 56%. It denies the winger a hat-trick of POTMs this campaign and Richards is the second academy player to take the prize after Kelly’s win in August.
