We were always relying on one man to represent the Royals at the World Cup this summer, and that one man has come good - Jon Dadi Bodvarsson has been named in Iceland’s 23-man squad for the tournament this summer.
It is the Nordic nation’s first ever World Cup, and they will face Argentina, Croatia and Nigeria in a potentially tricky Group D. But after a historic run to the Euro 2016 quarter-finals, in which they beat England in the Round of 16, they will believe anything is possible.
25-year-old Bodvarsson will be looking to add to the 36 caps and two goals he currently has for his country, as he line-ups alongside former Reading star Gylfi Sigurdsson and ex academy player Sami Fridjonsson in Russia.
