Reading will kick off their 2018/19 season by entertaining Derby County. The game against the Rams, who are now under the charge of former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard, will take place on the Friday night (August 3). It’s been confirmed as a televised fixture.

The first away game of the campaign comes a week later at Nottingham Forest, whilst the last match is Birmingham City at the Madejski Stadium. Over the festive period, Reading will travel to Millwall on Boxing Day, before hosting Paul Clement’s former club Swansea City on New Year’s Day. Inflatables Day - the last away game of the season - is set for Middlesbrough, although a trip to Bristol City two weeks prior will almost certainly prove more popular.

If you’re looking forward to games against either Leeds United or Blackburn Rovers, you’ll have to book work off as all four of those games will be mid-week. Home matches QPR and Norwich have also been penned into the first half of the season as mid-week.
