It’s finally here! It’s time to take down your World Cup poster and embrace the return of club football.
After finishing 17th, 19th and 20th in three of the last four seasons, it is probably fair to say that the days of Reading fans entering the new season full of optimism are long gone. However, that one odd season is a reminder that sometimes football can surprise you.
Ahead of the season opener against Frank Lampard’s Derby County, we want to find out not only where you think Reading will finish, but also what you would consider a successful and a bad season.
The premise is simple, choose the lowest finish that would leave you feeling Reading had a decent season and vice versa for failure.
We will ask you again after our 15th (27 October - Swansea away) and 30th (2 February - Aston Villa home) league games to see how your predictions are panning out and whether expectations change over time.
