Nottingham Forest 1-0 Reading: Player Ratings

Our ratings as Reading fall to a successive league defeat.

Simeon Pickup

Vito Mannone: 6

Mostly a quiet game and couldn't do anything about the winner.

Andy Yiadom: 6

Energetic down the right and got forward well, particularly in the first half.

Tiago Ilori: 7

Composed on the ball and dealt really well with the pace of Lewis Grabban. Perhaps could have closed down Hilal Soudani for the goal.

Paul McShane: 6

Did well defensively like Ilori, but some wayward passes let him down including a backpass that almost went past Mannone for an own goal.

Tyler Blackett: 5

More assured than he was last season, but didn't give Reading an option down the left.

Yakou Meite: 6

Gave Reading a good aerial presence down the right despite not otherwise showing too much. Looked an upgrade on Sone Aluko and could be in a good position to take his place in the first team going forwards. Spurned a golden chance when through on goal in the first half.

Liam Kelly: 5

Moved the ball around well but, as Reading's passer in the middle of the park, you want to see more control of the game and more creativity.

David Meyler: 5

Hardworking but quiet game.

Modou Barrow: 5

Didn't show enough in the final third bar the odd flash of pace. Impact in the final third needs to improve a lot.

Sam Baldock: 5

Anonymous going forwards but worked hard off it. Subbed off for McNulty.

Jon Dadi Bodvarsson: 5

Mostly the same as Baldock but missed some good chances in the second half - a one-on-one and a header palmed away by the keeper.

Subs

Marc McNulty: 5

Anonymous.

Leandro Bacuna: 5

Ineffective, didn't impose himself on the midfield.

Omar Richards: 5

Brought on for Blackett presumably to give Reading more threat down the left, but to no avail.

Average: 5.42
