Reading Owner Approval Rating: September 2018

We’ve seen the fruits of their summer labours, so what do we reckon?

Reading sit bottom of the Championship at the first international break of the 2018/19 season. How much of that is down to Chinese siblings Dai Yongge and Dai Xiuli? That’s the question we are asking you as we bring back our approval rating feature, gauging the fans’ opinion on the coach and management.

Since we last checked in on the ownership scenario, fans gave a generally positive view of the club in the aftermath of Jaap Stam’s sacking. In fact, we’ve never had a statistically unfavourable view of any owners since first asking the question almost three years ago.

Now, the response may well be a bit different. The summer saw up to £5 million expended on Sam Baldock with a reasonable fee put towards the signing of Marc McNulty, alongside a sledge of free transfers. No significant player sales came off, Liam Moore the most likely to leave although his transfer request was shunned and a new contract signed.

Off the pitch, the owners are said to continually be investing in the new training base at Bearwood with Ron Gourlay and Brian Tevreden seemingly their men on the ground, along with Paul Clement.

How happy are you with Reading FC's owners?
5 - Very happy
4
3 - Neither happy nor unhappy
2
1 - Couldn't be less happy
