It’s time for the first TTE readers’ verdict on the coach.

At the end of the season, no matter where Reading finished, it was too early to judge Paul Clement. And so, here we are, eight games into the new campaign and ready to have a good eyeball at the current boss’ record.

Sixteen games in all competitions down, Clement has overseen three wins, four draws and nine defeats. Of those victories, two were touch-and-go single goal wins in the Championship with the only 2018/19 triumph coming at home to a rotated Birmingham side in the League Cup.

Ultimately, he kept Reading in the division without any significant time to work with Jaap Stam’s squad and the majority of his defeats have only been by the odd goal. But he enters the first international break of the campaign bottom of the table and that is, by any measure, not good enough.

So where do you rate Clement’s performance since taking over? Rate him highly but think he’s been screwed over by the club management and players? Believe he’s due an early P45? Vote below.
