League One side Bristol Rovers have snapped up Reading FC youngster Gabriel Osho on a loan deal until the end of the 2018/19 season.
Making his debut in a tight defeat to Middlesbrough earlier in the campaign, the academy product has also appeared off the bench in the trip to Millwall and was most recently among the substitutes for the home loss to Swansea on New Year’s Day.
He now heads out to a third-tier relegation battle with Rovers sat 22nd in the table, although they have only lost once in their last eight matches and boast the sixth-best defensive record in the division. The paperwork is completed for Osho, who became the 49th Reading academy debutant when facing Boro, to make his debut at home to Peterbrough on Tuesday night, if selected.
The move leaves Matt Miazga, John O’Shea, Liam Moore, Paul McShane, Tom McIntyre and Tom Holmes as the remaining centre-back options for Jose Gomes with Tiago Ilori expected to complete a move to Sporting Lisbon imminently.
