Reading FC were always set to focus on their outgoings on deadline day but fresh reports concering two first-team players point towards a more drastic plan than was first thought. Both Leandro Bacuna and Yakou Meite are apparently set to move on.
Football.london report on Meite already completing a return to France with Ligue 1 side Amiens, having seemingly said his goodbyes to the squad on Wednesday - if his Instagram posts are to be a sign of anything.

Meanwhile, midfielder Bacuna is claimed to have had a medical at Premier League side Cardiff on the same day ahead of a permanent switch to the Welsh capital. Sky Sports name the fee as one which ‘could rise’ to £3m. The move comes just hours after he completed 90 minutes in the draw with Bolton, whereas Meite has been struggling with an ankle injury for the past few weeks.
Given that fringe players such as David Meyler and Marc McNulty were the ones considered most likely to leave the club this month, the sales of Meite and Bacuna will leave Reading and Jose Gomes with a lot of questions to answer - and potentially gaps in the squad to fill.
