It’s gone down to the wire, but David Meyler has ended a difficult few months by securing a move away from Reading and joining Coventry City on loan until the end of the season.

The 29-year-old midfielder only joined the Royals on a free transfer from Hull City last summer, but has made just five appearances for the club - the last of which came on September 1st against Sheffield Wednesday. At the start of this month, he was put on the transfer list by new manager Jose Gomes.

So although his move to Coventry, currently 11th in League One, is only temporary, Meyler is unlikely to have a future at the Madejski Stadium and will most probably seek a permanent transfer in the summer.
