Quick Takes: Reading Played A Match In Stoke Today

Not that you would've noticed...

Stoke City 0-0 Reading

Brian McDermott Appreciation Player of the Game

The travelling fans. They're still backing the boys in these desperate times, and are massively appreciated.

And Charlie Adam. He got a nice ovation from both sets of supporters today. Adam continues to add the professional leadership that this club evidently lacks on the pitch, even with Liam Moore having the armband.

Other notes

According to stats gurus FiveThirtyEight, Reading FC has a <1% chance of promotion this season and currently stand at a 14% chance of relegation. Another one of those seasons of utter obscurity...

Another slow start, another dull game. Not even an Al Pacino “Any Given Sunday” speech could get these guys going anymore...

Given we all know now what this season is now, you sadly have to be happy... I guess... to take just two points from two relegation sides.

It seems clear that Bowen still hasn’t found his best 11, and by this point that’s yet another concern to add to the growing tally.

Next up, Derby County at home. Two home games in the space of six days actually. Chance to get some feel-good factor this Christmas.

I guess...
