Jose Gomes has comfortably leapt past Paul Clement and Jaap Stam in the hearts and heads of Reading FC fans, according to our survey of TTE readers.
Last week, we polled you on how you thought the Portuguese coach was getting on having enjoyed some positive reviews for his message and handling of the media, all the while keeping the team above the dotted line by the skin of their teeth.
With a rating of 5 the highest and 1 the lowest, Gomes’ average came out at 3.41, a marked improvement compared to the 1.9 handed out in October to Clement and Stam’s final mark of 1.8.

To be fair, Reading fans were generally more positive than that about Stam during his successful first season, with the only other marks worse than Gomes’ coming just before both Brian McDermott and Steve Clarke were sacked.
