Reading’s academy continues to be a shining light at the club, shown once again last night as the Under-23s defeated Manchester United 3-1 to reach the semi-finals of the Premier League International Cup.

Today, two of those who featured - Tom Holmes and Jordan Holsgrove - plus another pair of academy stars in the shape of Tom McIntyre and Teddy Howe, have agreed new contracts in Berkshire as their development continues.

Howe, Holsgrove and McIntyre, the latter of whom made his senior debut back in December, have put pen to paper on deals until 2021. Meanwhile Holmes, a 17-year-old debutant last March against Bolton, will remain at the club until 2022.
