Emiliano Martinez: 6

A solid performance which was made tricky by the weather. Made another impressive save in the second half to keep the scores level.

Andy Yiadom: 6

Started off in his usual right-back role and moved into midfield during the second half. Effective in both positions, but really offered some attacking threat when he was down the right.

Liam Moore: 7

Looked strong and confident, and put in one of the best tackles I’ve seen in a while to stop a threatening Stoke attack.

Matt Miazga: 7

His partnership with Moore seems to be going from strength to strength. He looked in control, won most battles in the air, and stayed resilient throughout.

Tyler Blackett: 6

Made some great blocks and was defensively impressive throughout the game. He was maybe lacking a little bit when we were attacking.

Lewis Baker: 7

A clever game in midfield from Baker. He looked in control when he was on the ball, and made some excellent cross field passes.

Michael Olise: 5

A good first start for the academy midfielder. I was worried that he would get a little lost amongst a powerful Stoke midfield, but he held his own and got himself into some decent positions.

John Swift: 4

A sloppy performance from Swift. Lost the ball on numerous occasions, and wasted the chances he was given at goal. Frustrating to watch.

Callum Harriott: 5

Linked up well with Yiadom down the right to get the ball forward, but his delivery was lacking a little.

Garath McCleary: 5

Got into some good space going forward but didn’t have much impact on the game. Should have done better with a chance in second half stoppage time.

Yakou Meite: 4

Particularly ineffective on Saturday and wasn’t as productive as when we’ve seen him play out wide.

Substitutes

Chris Gunter: 5

Looked okay when he came on. Made a good block in the box and linked up well with McCleary.

Modou Barrow: 5

His pace gave Stoke something to think about when he came on, but didn’t manage to create a final product.

Danny Loader: N/A

Average: 5.54/10
