Emiliano Martinez: 8
Another good day at the office for the Argentine keeper. Made a couple of smart saves in the first half before making a good save late on to deny Jay Rodriguez from distance. Relieved the pressure on the back four by claiming a number of crosses.
Andy Yiadom: 7
Offered a constant outlet on the right hand side when in possession and defended astutely when one-on-one with WBA wing-back Townsend.
Liam Moore: 7
Captain fantastic! A solid performance alongside Miazga, limited West Brom to efforts from distance. Bonus point for his celebration upon discovering the Rotherham score at full-time.
Matt Miazga: 7
Another solid performance from the American at the heart of defence, kept HRK under wraps on his return to the Mad Stad. Looks to have formed a very solid partnership with Moore, hopefully he stays in the summer.
Tyler Blackett: 6
Defended well against Holgate when one-on-one and never looked in trouble. I would have liked to see him break forward more when in possession, as Baker was frequently looking for him.
Andy Rinomhota: 7
Another impressive performance from this season’s breakout star. He seems to win every second ball and sets the tempo and intensity for the team when out of possession.
Lewis Baker: 8
Arguably his best performance in a Reading shirt. Controlled the play from deep in the midfield and got around the pitch well - he seems to have relished the opportunity to get regular minutes and has embraced the relegation battle.
Ovie Ejaria: 6
Another tidy performance from the Liverpool loanee. Once again showcased his great footwork in tight spaces. Attempted a total of nine dribbles and was central to Reading’s play in possession, registering the most touches of any player on the team.
Yakou Meite: N/A
Hobbled off after a fairly inocuous incident, hopefully nothing too serious.
Modou Barrow: 6
Looked lively and wanted to get at defenders. Had what appeared to be a stonewall penalty shout turned down as he ran into the box before being hauled down by the West Brom defender.
Nelson Oliveira: N/A
Pulled up after a couple of minutes holding his hamstring, likely the last we see of him this season. Thanks for the memories.
Subs
Danny Loader: 4
Picked up some nice positions on the ball and had two good chances in the second half, sadly wasn’t able to capitalise on either. Feels like he just needs one to go in to get the ball rolling, notable that a lot of players came up and had a word with him after he missed the first one.
Garath McCleary: 7
Looked like the McCleary of old at times. Looked to beat his man and coupled this with tremendous workrate. Got cautioned for diving in a contentious penalty call.
Chris Gunter: 6
Came on to replace Blackett and was solid both defensively and in possession despite playing on the left.
Average: 6.58/10
