For the third month in a row, a January loanee has won our player of the month award, with Lewis Baker receiving 65% of your votes to pick up the accolade for April (and the one game we had in May). He follows in the footsteps of Emi Martinez and Matt Miazga, who won it in February and March respectively.
Baker certainly ended his time at Reading on a high with a number of impressive performances in midfield, providing a strong shield to the defence and looking dangerous in possession. He also scored one of the goals of the season against Hull City. Many fans are now desperate for the 24 year-old to stay beyond the summer along with the rest of the loanees.
The top three was made up of previous winners Miazga (17%) and Martinez (9%), emphasising just what a huge impact they’ve had since arriving.
