Reading Football Club welcome Sheffield Wednesday on August 3rd to kick off the 2019/20 Championship campaign at Madesjki Stadium.

Noteworthy fixtures for the upcoming campaign include:

First away game: Hull City - August 10

Boxing Day: QPR - Home

New Year’s Day: Fulham - Away

Last Away game: Blackburn - April 25

Final game: Swansea - Home, May 2

The midweek away games include West Brom (August 21), QPR (October 22), Barnsley (December 11), Derby (March 17).

The Easter weekend sees Reading host Huddersfield on Good Friday, April 10, heading to Charlton for a 3pm kick-off on Easter Monday, April 13.

Some analysis of the perceived difficulty of the fixture list marks out a very tough start. Three of the first five games are away with recently-relegated Cardiff coming to Berkshire on the third matchday.

November, meanwhile, offers plenty of chance to pick up points. Reading play Millwall and Luton at home before a trip to Brentford, home game with Leeds, and away day at Wigan.

Likewise, the run-in appears at this stage to be of intermidate difficulty. The Royals go to Charlton and Blackburn in amongst home games against Middlesbrough and Swansea. Not guaranteed points, but not fearsome at this stage.
