The Royals have announced their latest summer signing: Lucas Boyé. The Argentine winger joins from Serie A side Torino on a season-long loan deal with the option of a permanent move next summer.
Boyé, 23, has been at Torino since 2016, but spent the 2018/19 campaign in Greece with AEK Athens - for whom Nelson Oliveira signed a few weeks ago.
During that spell, he scored six times in 36 appearances - including four matches in the Champions League.
He'd previously broken through with River Plate in his home country, later playing for Newell's Old Boys and Celta Vigo.
Jose Gomes said of the signing:
“Lucas is a young, talented, attacking player with good technique and excellent ability running at defenders one-to-one. I am delighted to welcome him to Reading Football Club, he will be a good addition to our squad this season and I look forward to working with him on the training pitch.”
Boyé is the club's fifth addition of the summer. Michael Morrison and Charlie Adam have come in on permanent deals, while João Virgínia and Matt Miazga are loan signings.
