Off the back of a great 2018/19 season for Reading Women, who finished fifth in the league and reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup, three representatives from that side will be taking part in STAR’s upcoming fans’ forum at the Madejski Stadium.

It’ll be your chance to see: manager Kelly Chambers, Reading forward and Welsh international Natasha Harding, and Kirsty Pearce - newly appointed general manager and former club captain. Come along on Thursday September 5 at 8pm at the Princess Suite, Madejski Stadium.

It’ll also be STAR’s AGM, and they’ll be holding a couple of outstanding presentations for the Hall of Fame, which inducted another batch of Reading legends in March this year. Those inductees included former Royals Nicky Shorey, Keith McPherson and Steve Richardson, who Marc spoke to on the podcast.

Although the fans’ forum on September 5 is free, it’s only for STAR members. Don’t worry if you’re not a member at the moment though, as you can become a member on the door for the very reasonable fee of £10. Doing that also allows you to get free coach travel to the 15 furthest away trips this season - the next such match being the trip to Middlesbrough after the international break.

On the night, Chamber, Harding and Pearce will be talking about this year’s great World Cup run, when England finished fourth after being beaten in the semi-finals by the USA. The Lionesses’ squad included Reading midfielder Jade Moore, who made four appearances during the tournament.

They’ll also preview the upcoming 2019/20 WSL season, which kicks off a few days after STAR’s fan forum. First up for Reading is a trip to Prenton Park to take on Tranmere Rovers on Sunday September 8, with a home clash against Manchester City coming seven days later at Adams Park.
